II. Pine-Sol: Centering Black Women (12:10-12:50pm ET)
With a renewed focus on its core audience, Pine-Sol wanted to take a step back and reexamine its marketing strategy, putting Black women front and center. This meant not only understanding the values and needs of these women, but the role Pine-Sol plays in their lives. Hear how Pine-Sol showed up for Black women, a community who has shown love for the brand for decades, in an authentic and meaningful way in this 2021 Multicultural Excellence Award winning campaign.

Maurice Cooper is senior vice president of marketing at Target, where he oversees Target’s marketing strategy and creates plans that are guest-centric, culturally relevant and inclusive to fuel consumer affinity for Target’s brand and grow its business. He leads the strategy and execution of the brand, category and promotions marketing across paid, owned and shared media, while also overseeing key campaigns. Cooper has significant experience and success as a strategic and innovative marketing leader having previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Growth & Experience Officer at Wingstop Restaurants, the fast-growing, fast-casual chain known for its chicken wings. In addition, Cooper has had executive brand marketing roles at Intercontinental Hotels Group and The Coca-Cola Company.

Cassandra is a passionate brand marketer who is a staunch advocate for authentic consumer connections and inclusivity. Through her work on various categories ranging from text books to steak sauce to disinfecting wipes, she’s learned the power that brands can harness by living their purpose. She currently oversees Innovation and Sustainability Initiatives for Clorox Wipes. When not at work, Cassandra teams up with her husband and her 2-and-a-half year old son Malcolm on their mission to find the best playground in the Bay Area.
